Marie-Michelle is a physiotherapist who graduated in 2010 from University Laval, in Quebec. Her background as a track and field athlete, her desire to help and her passion for health inspired her career. She moved to Golden in 2015 to enjoy the active and fulfilled lifestyle of the mountains. She has worked in Montreal, Victoria and Nelson in a variety of work environments which has expanded her skill set.

Marie’s post-graduate training includes manual therapy, temporomandibular joint (jaw) disorders, and global postural re-education. Recently she has specialized in functional dry needling, an effective technique used to treat myofascial pain and muscle dysfunction affecting movement pattern. She focuses on understanding the cause of the problem, whether acute or chronic, for long term relief and healing. Considering the person in their whole environment, lifestyle and habits optimizes recovery and reaching the goals of the patient. Hands-on treatment, exercises prescription, dry needling, taping and education will be part of her treatment approach.

In her free time, she enjoys developing her creativity through sewing and writing. If not at the clinic, you will meet Marie on the bike or hiking trails, or ski-touring in the middle of the backcountry seeking snow, adventure and peacefulness.
